Don’t Hold Back | Empower Her Blog
When you make the decision to believe in God and you say you trust God, don't hold back.
Go all in.
Despite how you feel.
Despite what you may have walked away from.
When you decide to trust in God, allow God's Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to lead you.
You won't have to say what you've done or what you have not done when it comes to your daily commitment to God.
Your life will be evidence of what you say you believe.
And I know this personally.
I was someone who used to struggle with many different things.
I used to lie about things that I can never go back and correct.
I was someone who struggled with sexual urges.
I was addicted to watching pornography.
I was in relationships and situations that I'm not proud of.
I am now at a place where those things no longer control my life.
It wasn't easy.
I just decided to go all in with God, cold turkey.
I made the decision to put boundaries on my phone and not look up specific things.
I shared with trusted people who could hold me accountable.
I made decisions, despite how difficult it would be, to simply be honest.
Do temptations still come?
Absolutely.
“Good character is the best insurance; crooks get trapped in their sinful lust.” -Proverbs 11:6 MSG
But as I read this Bible verse today, God blessed my heart to share this:
Our lives as believers and people of faith, living with integrity and aligning with God's word, should be the assurance that we have of the good plan and purpose that God has for our lives.
Our lives are being seen every day by people we know and people we don't know.
This Week's Faith Moves:
We don't have to beat the Bible against anyone's head.
We don't have to tell people they have to believe this or that.
When you live a life aligned with God's word, your life will be your greatest testimony.
So, what could that look like for you, friend?
If you haven't already made the decision to really bet on God, meaning if you haven't made the decision to say, "God, I'm done doing life my own way. I want to do it your way. I want to experience your good life".
Take this moment right now and pray that.
And don't just stop there.
Make the commitment to begin reading the Bible, learning God's word, studying His promises, and living them out.
Don't hold back!
Go all in.
