God’s Word Has the Power to Change Your Life | Empower Her Blog

What if the breakthrough you’ve been praying for isn’t found in learning more, but in living out what God has already said?

God’s word has the power to change your life for the better, but that transformation begins the moment you choose to put His truth into practice.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people say that God’s word can change your life.

As I’ve grown in my faith, I’ve learned something important: God’s word has the power to change you, but you have to make the decision to let it.

It’s not enough to simply learn it or memorize it. You have to choose to live it out.

Friend, many of God’s promises come with an invitation.

In other words, God says, “If you do this, then I will do that.”

One Scripture I’ll never forget is Malachi 3:10.

At the time, I was more stressed than blessed.

I needed help in my finances bad.

Then, I discovered that God invites us to test Him.

He tells us that when we faithfully give our tithes...the first 10% of our income to Him through our local church, He will bless us.

Another one of my favorite passages is Deuteronomy 28:1-14. It talks about how, if we’re careful to obey God’s instructions, not just knowing them but actually living them out we’ll be blessed.

Our families will be blessed.

The work of our hands will be blessed.

We’ll be blessed when we come in and blessed when we go out.

I don’t know about you, friend, but that sounds pretty simple to me!

I can’t tell you how long I struggled in different areas of my life my finances, my priorities, and even my communication.

For years, I tried to figure everything out on my own, but I kept ending up in the same place.

I looked around and realized my life reflected more stress than peace, more striving than trusting.

So I made a decision.

I said, “God, I’m going to bet on you. I’m going to see if you really are who you say you are. Because if you are, then you blow my mind...change my life for the better.”

And little by little, as I began applying His word instead of just hearing it, I started seeing Him transform areas I never thought could change.

This Week's Faith Moves:

What about you?

What’s one area of your life where you want to see God’s word come alive?

Maybe it’s your finances, your relationships, your purpose, your peace, or your faith.

My encouragement is simple: Bet on God.

Make the decision not to just learn His word, but to live it out every single day.

Give Him the opportunity to show you what happens when His truth becomes your lifestyle instead of just information.

If you’ve never made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I want to encourage you to do that today. Talk to Him. Tell Him you’ve made mistakes.

Tell Him you want to change.

Ask Him to forgive you, lead you, and teach you how to live the life God created you to live.

As you continue walking with Him and following His word, you’ll begin to see Him shape your life in ways you never could on your own.

One faithful step at a time, He’ll guide you into the purpose He has prepared for you.

Verse of the Day

Romans 12:1-2 (NIV) Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
