Miracle at the Eye Doctor | Empower Her Blog

Have you ever prayed for something so simple it almost felt silly to ask? I used to think healing had to be something “big” like cancer, paralysis, or blindness. But this past Saturday, I experienced a miracle that reminded me...nothing is too small for God.
I went to the eye doctor for the first time in over two years. Not because of finances, but simply because I finally carved out the time to take care of me.
Yes, I had been slacking, friend.
Then, I remembered I needed to get new glasses!
For those of us who wear prescription glasses, you know how important regular checkups are...once a year, especially if you have astigmatism.
Now before I share with you on the miracle that occurred.
I want to give you some background.
1.For years, every eye exam showed my vision declining.
2.For years, I was told I had astigmatism.
But this time? My vision had not changed in two years, and the doctor told me I no longer have astigmatism.
Praise the Lord!
That might not sound big to some, but for me it was mind-blowing. Since childhood, my eyes have always required corrective lenses, and my prescription only got worse.
But recently, I’ve been praying for God to heal my body.
For my vision not to change and for the astigmatism to disappear reminds me that God hears even the smallest desires of our hearts!
Do I have 20/20 vision yet? No, friend.
But, I do have evidence that God is at work in me.
Sharing My Story For You
Nothing Is Too Small for God
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.”- Psalm 23:1 NIV
Friend, this verse reminded me that if God is truly our Shepherd, then we will not lack. That includes healing...whether for our eyes, our bodies, our finances, or our hearts!
God Honors Our Big Prayers & Small Prayers
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” -John 15:7 NIV
Let me tell you after this recent visit this scripture hits a little different for me! I’ve been praying specifically for healing, and I believe this result was God showing me He hears and He answers.
Sometimes miracles aren’t instant, but progressive. I pray my testimony shows that God can pause what was declining, restore what was broken, or remove what was once permanent.
Friend, God loves you very much and He wants to give you good things.
Don't be afraid to ask Him, no matter how big or small.
Verse of the Day
John 15:7 (NIV) "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."
Reflection
What’s the one area you’ve stopped praying about because it felt “too small” or “too impossible”?
This week, bring that thing back to God in prayer...big or small. Write it down. Speak it out. And believe by faith that God is able!
Because if He can heal astigmatism, He can heal anything.
