This Might Be Why You Feel Off Lately | Empower Her Blog

This might be your sign to get things back in order…

Not in a perfect, aesthetic, Pinterest way.

But, in a peace you can feel kind of way.

You see friend, there’s nothing like a picked-up room.

And I mean really picked up...clothes folded, floor clear, nothing random scattered everywhere.

It just feels… better.

What’s crazy is, I didn’t always feel that way.

When I was younger, cleaning my room felt like a whole task!

Toys everywhere. Clothes everywhere.

My mom telling me to clean it and somehow it took hours...days.

Now? It’s different.

Friend, my bed isn’t giving hotel vibes every day 😂

But, I do make sure it’s pulled together!

Things are where they need to be.

And, I’ve noticed something:

When my space is in order… my mind follows.

But, when everything around me is all over the place?

Yeah… I feel it internally too.

This is where it got deeper for me:

The more I’ve been on this walk with God, the more I’ve started craving order in other areas of my life.

Not because someone is telling me to or because I “have to.”

But because something in me has shifted.

And when I came across:

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. -Psalm 119:1

It clicked!

God’s instructions aren’t just spiritual checklists.

They create structure. They create rhythm. They create order.

Just like cleaning your room becomes a habit over time…so does following God.

It becomes who you are.

You don’t have to force it, you start to flow in it.

But here’s the part we can’t skip:

Order is not the goal. Obedience is.

Order is just the fruit.

Because if we’re honest, you can clean your space, reset your routine, get your life “together”…and still feel off.

I’ve seen it. I’ve lived it!

Because external order without internal surrender doesn’t last.

This Week's Faith Moves...aka Nuggets :)

Cleaning your room isn’t just about being productive.

It’s practice.

It’s training your spirit to respond to instruction.

Because the same discipline it takes to pick up what’s out of place, put things where they belong or finish what you started.

…is the same discipline it takes to pray when you don’t feel like it, stay consistent when no one sees you and obey God when it’s uncomfortable.

So instead of just asking, “What do I need to clean?”

Ask this too:

-What has God already told me to do that I haven’t done yet?

Where have I been delaying obedience?

-What am I avoiding that I keep praying about?

Because sometimes we ask God for clarity…when He already gave us instruction.

This week:

• Pick one area you’ve been avoiding

• Set a 10-15 minute timer

• Clean it with intention (not pressure)

• Invite God into the moment

Pray:

“God, teach me how to follow your instructions...even in the small things.”

Then take it a step further:

Act on one thing God has already been nudging you to do.

Before you scroll...pause.

What is one thing God already told you to get in order?

Do it today. Not perfectly. Just obediently.

Because the life you’re praying for?

It’s on the other side of instructions you haven’t followed yet.

Verse of the Day

Psalm 119:1 (NIV) Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD.
