What Are You Giving God to Multiply? A Lesson on Stewardship Beyond Money | Empower Her Blog

“People may not remember every word you said, but they’ll remember how you made them feel.”

As believers, I think that’s something worth reflecting on!

You may not always feel like you have the perfect words.

You may not be the most eloquent person in the room.

Conversations may replay in your mind to make you wonder if you should’ve said something differently.

But, here’s the beautiful part...

God can use the way you make someone feel just as much as the words you speak.

Growing up, my grandparents were not always around me.

My mom’s parents passed away when she was still a young girl, and my dad’s parents lived about four hours away.

But, God still gave me someone who loved me like family.

I had cousins who lived next door, and every week...or at least what felt like every week...their grandmother would pick us up and take us somewhere!

Sometimes we’d go to the zoo.

Sometimes we’d stop by a local restaurant.

Other days, we’d simply drive around the back roads while she’d speed up just enough to make us feel like we were on a roller coaster 😀

Those are some of my favorite childhood memories!

Recently, I found out that she had passed away.

I hadn’t spoken with her in a about a year.

Yet, the moment I heard the news, decades of memories came rushing back.

I remembered the laughter...the adventures...I remembered feeling included.

Then, I remembered the very last conversation we had.

She looked at me and simply said,

“You are so beautiful.”

At the time I smiled and said, “Thank you.”

But looking back now, I realize something.

Those few words made me feel like I was that little girl all over again.

The little girl who felt seen...loved...the little girl who felt like she mattered!

I don’t remember every conversation we ever had.

I don’t remember every word she ever spoke.

But, I remember how she made me feel.

She didn’t owe me anything!

Yet she chose kindness and she chose to make room for me.

And decades later…

I’m still carrying the fruit of it!

As I reflected on those memories, my mind went to Matthew 25.

Jesus shares the parable of the talents, where a master entrusts his servants with different amounts before leaving on a journey.

When the faithful servants returned having managed what was entrusted to them well, the master said:

'His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’' -Matthew 25:23 (NKJV)

For years, I mostly connected this passage to going to Heaven and finances.

I thought about stewarding money well.

Managing resources faithfully.

And while I still believe that’s true…

I believe stewardship is much bigger than our bank account.

What if God desires to multiply everything He places in our hands?

Our relationships.

Our words.

Our influence.

Our children.

Our friendships.

Our gifts.

Our opportunities.

Even the way we make people feel!

Maybe stewardship isn’t just about what we own.

What if it’s about how we care for everything God has entrusted to us.

Because whatever is placed in our hands has the potential to impact someone else’s life.

So today, I want to ask you something.

What are you giving God to multiply?

Is it encouragement?

Is it generosity?

Is it wisdom?

Is it patience?

Is it faithfulness?

Is it your time?

Don’t underestimate what seems small!

Throughout Scripture, God has always had a way of taking little and making it much.

This Week's Faith Moves:

Friend, this week, don’t limit God’s multiplication to just one area of your life.

What if He wants to multiply your peace?

Your obedience?

Your influence?

Your relationships?

Your compassion?

What if He wants to multiply the love you freely give away?

Whatever God has placed in your hands...whether it feels big or incredibly small...steward it well!

Because when we faithfully manage what He’s entrusted to us, we position ourselves for Him to do what only He can do.

Multiply it.

Think on it, friend, what has God placed in your hands that you’ve been overlooking?

How are you stewarding it?

And, if God multiplied what you’re currently giving Him… would you be excited about what grows?

Friend, I pray this week you give God something worth multiplying!
