When Everything Changes | Empower Her Blog

Have you ever felt like you’re just waiting for that one moment?

That moment where something finally clicks or where one situation changes everything.

It's like you just need that one opportunity shows up…

...And suddenly, everything in your life gets better.

You may not even know exactly what it is you’re waiting for, but you feel it.

You feel like if the right person came, or the right door opened, or the right financial breakthrough happened… everything would finally fall into place.

And so, you wait.

We all do it in different ways.

Some people call it hope, timing, or luck.

But if we’re honest, a lot of people are waiting for something outside of themselves to change their entire life.

That is why so many people play the lottery, hoping one moment will erase years of struggle.

Some people chase platforms, opportunities, relationships, or “big breaks,” believing that one thing will finally fix everything.

I understand that feeling.

Because I’ve been there too!

Before I made the decision to truly trust God, I found myself in cycles.

Wanting things to change my finances, my relationships, my direction in life, but nothing really changed long-term.

It felt like I was trying different things, hoping for different results, but still ending up in the same place emotionally, mentally, and spiritually!

And at some point, I had to be honest with myself:

Something had to change… but maybe it wasn’t just my situation.

Perhaps, it was my belief.

And, it was!

It started with a decision.

A decision to open God’s word...not just to read it, but to believe that what I was reading could actually change my life!

That it wasn’t just information… it was instruction or steps I could actually follow.

One verse that shifted everything for me was Matthew 6:33:

“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

I had heard it before. Many times.

But this time, I asked myself a different question:

What if I actually lived like this is true?

What if I stopped trying to figure everything out on my own… and instead started seeking God first in every area of my life?

Not perfectly. Not overnight. But consistently.

It reminded me of learning something new in school, or even learning a new skill.

At first, you hear it. Then you study it. But, you don’t really know it until you apply it!

And application always reveals what you actually believe.

That’s what my journey with God became.

Not just reading… but practicing.

Not just hearing… but applying.

And little by little, things started changing, not always instantly, but deeply.

My mindset changed.

My peace changed.

My decisions changed.

My expectations changed.

And eventually, my life started to follow!

This Week's Faith Moves...aka Nuggets :)

Maybe you’ve tried a lot of things too.

You could be looking for change in your finances, your relationships, your purpose, or your peace and nothing has really lasted.

So, here’s my simple challenge to you:

What if for the month, a week, or even just today you chose to seek God first in one area?

Not everything at once.

Just one area.

And instead of trying to control the outcome, you simply trust Him enough to lead you step by step.

Not as a last resort… but as your first response!

Because “betting on God” isn’t about gambling your life.

It’s about trusting the One who already knows your life from beginning to end.

And from experience, I can tell you it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

Verse of the Day

Matthew 6:33 (NIV) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
