What is one thought that comes to your mind when you hear the word becoming?
For me, I think about where I am presently.
If I can be honest, I believe this season I am becoming aligned to who God created me to be.
Emotionally.
Financially.
Mentally.
Physically.
Spiritually.
However, it took me some time to get here……decades to be exact!
You see according to Google the word becoming means the process of coming to be something or of passing into a state.
As believers of Christ, becoming is a word I believe that can best describe our spiritual journeys!
Every day we choose Christ, we are becoming.
Every day, by choosing Christ, we are making the decision to go through a process to shed off the very things that are not of Christ and become who God created us to be.
Meaning, when we choose Christ, we are submitting to a daily process of releasing our imperfections and becoming perfected by the one who is perfect!
“We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.” Ephesians 2:21
I remember growing up within church culture.
I thought I had to be perfect in order to call myself a Christ follower, a Christian.
This led me to put on façades and spent many years secretly hiding what I should have been revealing to God!
Such as: my past porn addiction, my past sex addiction, my past addiction to masturbation, suicidal thoughts, lying, anxiety…etcetera!
And, no matter how many times I went to an Alter Call to repent I found myself going insane repeating cycles.
When I eventually gave my heart to God, He revealed to me real spiritual change comes by choosing to truly surrender and start becoming more aligned with Christ.
So, how does that look like you ask?
I’m grateful to tell you!
I prayed to God and trusted to move forward in life accepting His will, His way.
“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.” Psalms 9:10
I made a decision to not stop at the simple prayer of God forgive me.
However, I started becoming more honest with God about my struggles and started trusting in God to follow whatever His purpose is for my life!
And, believe His purpose will work out for my good because He loves me. (Romans 8:28)
I share this with you because I believe this is your season to start becoming!
It is time for you to start becoming more aligned with Christ to enhance God’s kingdom.
There are people who need your story.
There are people who need your prayers.
There are people who need the gift that God has placed inside of you.
Your time is now!
Surrender All To God, And Start Becoming.
