EMPOWER HER BLOG: BUILDING BY FAITH!

Here recently, I had an opportunity to help the church.

As you may know, I moved back home this summer to help support the church my parents' lead.

With this in mind, I decided to go clean the church as well as spruce up our women’s front bathroom!

Prior to arriving at the church, I went to the store and picked up some cute items that could enhance the setting of the bathroom.

I was so excited to add all the items that I had picked out from the store.

Then, I headed over to the church to get started with cleaning.

To my surprise, my aunt was there to meet me to clean the church.

After cleaning, it was time to decorate and I was so excited that all of the items purchased could be put in the ladies bathroom!

However, after many attempts, I realized that we would not be able to put everything together at the time due to the weather.

Since it is now fall, it gets a little darker outside than normal.

My excitement slowly started to decrease, but The Holy Spirit showed me something about my spiritual journey.

Because there are times in our spiritual journeys where we are so excited to build things, but in order to successfully accomplish we have to make sure our foundation is solid.

Then, the following scripture came to mind and I pray that this blesses you today.

“It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.” Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭48‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What is interesting is that this specific verse inspired a song my aunt’s mother used to sing. The song went like this, “I am working on a building, it’s a true foundation.”

Friend, when it comes to our spiritual journeys, the things that we do for God, we must make sure they are built on God to be well built!

No matter how big or small we need to take the time to allow Jesus to be the foundation of what we build.

Meaning, whenever we are doing anything, our acts of service or our labor of love, we want to make sure that we are taking the time to allow Jesus to lead our decisions.

This way when things don’t turn out the way we expect we may get disappointment, but we can still be in a heart posture to be affirmed by God.

What are the things that you are working to build?

How are your decisions determined?

Do you find yourself kind of flustered because everything isn’t built on your timeframe?

Are you really taking the time to allow Jesus to lead you every step of the way?

If not, I encourage you to take a moment to ask God, ‘God, help me to build for you.and move forward knowing every step you take with God is valuable.

I pray that as you and I are building, whatever we build, we allow Jesus to take the lead!

As long as Jesus is our guide, we are building on purpose with purpose.

We got this, friend!
