EMPOWER HER BLOG: , But What Did God Say?

As a child, I can’t tell you how many times my parents would tell me to do something!

It was not until later in life where I now understand the reason behind their instruction.

Their guidance wasn’t simply because they had ‘power over me’ , but they had a love for me.

As the famous words of my father, "Some mistakes you don’t have to make because I have already made them.”

Now in my spiritual journey, I similarly cling tightly on the words of Jesus.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭33‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When Jesus shared these words to His disciples, Jesus was preparing their hearts for his departure.

Jesus was assuring his followers to have peace and rely on the Holy Spirit (who would later come and is now present for followers in Christ).

I am often reminded of this truth in life!

When anxiety tries to creep in my heart, I am led to ask the question, “, But what did God say?”

Yes, my current situation seems different than what God may have spoken, but what did God say?

Yes, people may have opinions about me, but what did God say?

Yes, I may have even doubted God's promises at times, but what did God say?

Because I, too, am a follower of Christ, this question helps me choose to rely on The Holy Spirit who keeps me aligned with God’s word, not feelings of the unknown!

According to Isaiah 55:11 NIV, ”so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.“

And, that is God speaking!

When I feel low, meditating on God’s word reminds me that God will accomplish exactly what He says.

Friend, if you are still reading, think about the word God has spoken over your life, friends, children, marriage, health, or finances.

Make today a day where you will cling tightly on that word.

Believe if God said it, it will happen!

Heavenly father, I pray for my friend, who is reading this post. I pray that whatever word you have spoken over their life, my friend will see it come to pass! May any anxiety, worry, fear, or doubt be removed from their heart! Let your power fall in their lives, so you may get the glory through their story in Jesus name amen!
