God does not just visit...He moves in.
Not in a spooky way.
Like⊠for real.
Growing up in church, I always heard, âGod lives inside of you.â
It sounded good. It sounded holy.
But, this didnât fully register until recently.
I was reading John 14:23 (NIV):
"Jesus replied, âAnyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them."
Make our home.
Not stop by on Sundays or check in occasionally.
Home.
When I read that, I was like, "That's good God!"
Now friend, in this passage, Judas (not the one who betrayed Jesus, but another follower of Jesus) asked Jesus why He wasnât planning to reveal Himself openly to the whole world.
You see, the disciples had expectations.
They thought Jesus was going to overthrow Rome. Rescue their people.
Flip the political system upside down...like Jesus flipped those tables.
But Jesus, kept pointing his followers back to something bigger.
He wasnât there to take over a government.
He was there to carry out His Fatherâs will.
And that will? Salvation.
Not temporary relief...heart transformation.
Jesus also says something so simple, but itâs not light.
âIf you love me, keep my commandments.â
So now the real question becomes:
What did Jesus actually command or teach?
As Iâve grown in faith, Iâve realized His teaching wasnât just in what He said, it was in how He lived.
Jesus prayed constantly.
He slipped away to be alone with the Father.
He moved with intention.
He prioritized obedience over popularity.
He loved people who werenât easy to love.
Jesus didnât just talk about Godâs will, He lived it!
And if we say we love Him, we should live it too!
Not perfectly, but the very best way we can.
Thereâs a pattern in Jesusâ life thatâs easy to overlook:
1. He spent time with the Father.
2. He obeyed what the Father said.
3. He loved people deeply.
4. He stayed focused on the mission.
That pattern still matters!
Prayer isnât just venting.
Itâs alignment.
Reading Scripture isnât just checking a box.
Itâs learning how Heaven thinks.
And obedience? Thatâs love in action.
Once again, Jesus says,
âIf you love me, keep my commandments.â
Because if Jesus truly lives in us, how could we not?
This Week's Faith Moves...aka Nuggets :)
If youâve tried to fill certain spaces in your life with achievement, relationships, distractions, or control.
Or, youâve believed in God⊠but still felt distant.
Hereâs something to think about:
Nothing temporary can satisfy a space that was designed for God to dwell in.
When Jesus says He and the Father will make their home with us, that means you were created to carry His presence.
And, when you choose obedience not out of fear, but love something shifts internally.
You donât just believe in Him.
You reflect Him.
You donât just attend church.
You become a dwelling place.
And that changes how you move.
How you love.
How you build.
How you show up.
So What Do You Do With This?
Start simple.
Ask God:
âIs there an area of my life that doesnât look like you live here?â
Then, sit with it.
Open your Bible.
Pray honestly.
Adjust boldly.
And if youâre part of the Empower Her Ministries tribe, donât just read this and scroll.

âą Or reply to this blog and share what God is shifting in you.
We are not building businesses, families, or faith from emptiness.
We are building from indwelling.
And when Heaven has made its home in you, you stop striving to be chosen.
You start living like you already are.
