Quiet Obedience

What if we lived in a world where we could no longer receive praise from people?

Instant gratification from uploading social media posts or going viral were nonexistent.

The only approval we could accept was by God alone.

How would you choose to honor God?

How would you show your love to friends or family on special occasions?

Recently, I watched a documentary on Netflix about social media and the powerful effect it has in our daily lives.

With certain platforms, most if not all users are susceptible to receiving false narratives.

Meaning, there are some social media users who prefer reading fake news vs. hearing reality or uploading selfies only with filters vs. sharing unedited images of themselves.

As I intentionally watched, I began to think about how on earth could this phenomenon have started!

By the end of the film, I became enlighten the answer was through our very own human nature.

Most people are infatuated by what others have or getting constant recognition to be considered great.

What stuck with me most was the addiction of seeking validation from others.

You see, the uncomfortable truth is I too have been a part of seeking approval.

I’ve also had desires of obtaining positions with the only reason is just to say I am important.

It is only by the grace of God where I no longer seek people’s acceptance, but God’s inheritance.

By the time I finished watching, I thought, Now that I’m healed, how can I help those who I love break free from this?

Well, Honey Bunches, if you’re reading this post, you are in luck because I love you so much I went to the Bible and discovered this Nugget:

Your good works should not ring louder than God’s vision for you.

John 7:3–4 says, And Jesus’ brothers said to him, leave here and go to Judea, where your followers can see your miracles! You can’t become famous if you hide like this! If you can do such wonderful things, show yourself to the world!

I believe if you are anointed by God, you will have the favor of God over your life.

In other words, your gifts will attract people to you and the things God has crafted you to do.

Yet, there is a divine time for everything, including for you to harvest what you’ve planted. (Ecclesiastes 3:1) 😉

To help you eliminate seeking approval my prayer is you will master what I call Quiet Obedience.

Now, I’m sure you’re wondering, What Is Quiet Obedience?

Quiet Obedience is you choosing to be faithful to the delayed vision of God even when the world’s vision guarantees you instant results.

After Jesus’ brothers came to Him, he was able to shut down their suggestions through Quiet Obedience.

In John 7:6, Jesus replied, now is not the right time for me to go, but you can go anytime.

Jesus understood the purpose that God had for Him to come to earth.

Jesus’ example was so divine due to Him knowing and following God’s vision than settling to the world’s perceptions.

What about you, Honey Bunches?

Can you imagine doing amazing things without recognition?

Better yet, can you imagine giving to someone without anyone knowing?

The very gifts you have belong to God and should be used to advance His kingdom, not your ego!

God is so faithful to those who love Him.

This world holds limited resources, but God is the supplier!

If you remain obedient to Him, He will give you what you need and when you need it.

May you be empowered to practice Quiet Obedience. May God produce blessings for your faithfulness to generations and generations to come. God’s timing is so divine and holds supernatural favor. May your Quiet Obedience bring you overflowing prosperity to sustain you and pour into many lives! Amen!

Faith Nuggets!

Your good works should not ring louder than God’s vision for you.

Quiet Obedience is you choosing to be faithful to the delayed vision of God even when the world’s vision guarantees you instant results.

The very gifts you have belong to God and should be used to advance His kingdom, not your ego!
