Spiritual Growth: Level Up In Christian Maturity Part III

Writer: Empower Her MinistriesEmpower Her Ministries

At the start of entering your spiritual journey is synonymous to the beginning stages of learning a new skill, sticking to a new health routine, or forming a new romantic relationship.

You will be excited.

You will be motivated to achieve certain goals.

You will look forward to remaining on your journey due to the benefits it may bring.

With time, as you take steps forward on the new path, your emotions will eventually shift.

Yet, in spiritual growth, I believe certain emotions will shift while you practice spiritual disciplines.

Reading your Bible regularly will be a necessity, yet you may not feel as much of a challenge to actually read it.

Spending time in prayer will be like drinking water.

You know, prayer is something you should practice daily. 😉

On the flip side, the act of your prayer time may not bring similar emotions as when you first learned how to pray.

As you grow spiritually, there will come a point or moments in your journey where the emotions behind your why fades.

You may even question if you’re making any progress.

If you are currently experiencing this specifically and haven’t already heard, I would like to be the first to share, Honey Bunches, welcome to Christian maturity!

Your consistency in sticking to your walk with God is now routine.

Maybe, you just read that sentence and are like me when God opened my eyes to leveling up spiritually.

You need a direct explanation of Christian maturity and I will love to share it with you!

The more we spend time in the presence of God spiritual growth comes natural.

But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. Psalms 1:2-3

In reality, I believe the moment when you, I, and other Christians level up to spiritual maturity, what we do as discipline to God is no longer controlled by emotions, but faith.

We remain intentional in practicing spiritual disciplines because we understand the power it brings due to the One who we serve!

Spiritual maturity produces an unexplainable joy that exudes through us no matter who or what season we become connected to.

As I said in last week’s post, the more you follow God the less you will focus on what you shouldn’t be doing; instead, you will move in what’s right.

In other words, once you are living in spiritual maturity you are aware of what you need to do by simply living in the design God’s prepared for you!

And, if you haven’t reached this level in spiritual growth just yet, remain faithful in your obedience to God.

Better yet, let me empower you with a snippet of scripture😉

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin

Growth Nuggets!
