Don’t Miss the Moments You’re Praying For | Empower Her Blog

ree

We live in a culture that celebrates doing more, but few talk about the quiet grace of simply being. Somewhere between the grind and the goal, God is still inviting you to enjoy what you’ve already prayed for.

Hustling and grinding are glorified.

I am sure you've either seen it or experienced it.

The one who’s always doing the most is often seen as the one who’s successful.

And, while there’s nothing wrong with hard work, friend, one question keeps me centered when I find myself doing...let's say a little too much:

"If today was the last day for you to do what you're doing, was it all worth it?"

Ecclesiastes‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬, “Here is what I have seen to be good:  It is appropriate to eat, drink, and experience good in all the labor one does under the sun during the few days of his life God has given him, because that is his reward.

I have to admit that there are times where I find myself "locked in" or lazer focused on going after what I believe has for me, my family, others where I am so focused I miss the simple things.

I wake up.

Of course, I take the time to thank God.

Then, it's like I began to start my weekly routine.

I get out of bed.

I clock in to work during the day.

I pop open my laptop for my evening work.

Of course, eat meals and complete my personal hygiene routines.

I enjoy what I get to do.

At the same time, I can find myself getting caught up in constant motion.

That's when the Holy Spirit will say, “If today was your last day doing what I called you to do, did you give it your best? And, did you truly enjoy it?”

Sharing My Story For You

It’s so easy to get caught up in chasing goals, dreams, and purpose that we forget to pause and actually enjoy the life we’re praying for.

The book of Ecclesiastes is full of practical wisdom, it has been a gentle reminder for me and I will share with you that everything has a season and that joy, too, is a gift from God.

If I can answer those questions,

“If today was your last day doing what I called you to do, did you give it your best?

And, did you truly enjoy it?”

If I answer with a sincere yes, then I believe I’ll hear the words every believer longs to hear:

“Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

To the one who’s been working hard, showing up, believing God, and pressing forward. Keep building, but don’t forget to breathe.

Take time to laugh with family.

Rest without guilt. Enjoy what you’ve built and what God is still building through you.

You don’t have to wait until the finish line to find fulfillment, you can experience joy right in the middle of the assignment.

Verses of the Day

Ecclesiastes‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ (CSB) “Here is what I have seen to be good:  It is appropriate to eat, drink, and experience good in all the labor one does under the sun during the few days of his life God has given him, because that is his reward.  Furthermore, everyone to whom God has given riches and wealth,  he has also allowed him to enjoy them, take his reward, and rejoice in his labor.  This is a gift of God,  for he does not often consider the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with the joy of his heart.”

You don’t have to wait until you’ve “made it” to enjoy life...you can find peace, purpose, and gratitude right where you are.

Friend, every season you’re in holds beauty, even if it doesn’t look like what you expected.

If this message spoke to you, we’d love to hear your heart. 💌

Share in the comments one way you’re choosing to slow down and enjoy the life you’ve prayed for or send a quick email to info@wesharetoempower.com and let’s talk about what rest looks like for you in this season.

Because when we share what God is teaching us, we remind someone else that they don’t have to rush their journey either.
