EMPOWER HER BLOG: CREATING WITHIN ME

Updated: Apr 21, 2023

One of the greatest commandments that Jesus shared with us is to love your neighbor as yourself.

But, if I can be honest with you, loving myself has not always been easy.

As a young girl, leading into my mid twenties, I struggled with insecurities while looking in the mirror.

I struggled with thoughts that would tell me I’m not good enough.

I struggled with depressing thoughts that would whisper it would be a waste of time to give my best.

I struggled with the guilt of past failures.

I struggled with the negative words that were spoken over me by those who were closest to me.

I believe we can all say at some point in our lives we have not viewed ourselves in the way our Heavenly Father, God, does.

Does this sound familiar to you?

Well, I have good news, you don’t have to struggle anymore!

According to Isaiah 43:4, it reminds us of how our Father, God,  sees us as honored and precious.

If I can be really honest, those bad thoughts will still try to linger in my mind.

When those thoughts try stay for longer than they are needed, I begin to declare God’s word over myself and I notice those thoughts will eventually go back to where they came from 😀

It is by the grace of God where I am now in place where I can love myself in a way that reflects my Heavenly Father, so I can effectively love others.

I believe it is one of the ways our Heavenly, God, wants for us to create.

Because when we love ourselves the way The Creator God does, we create effectively.

Loving ourselves like The Creator, God, will allow us to mirror God's love to others authentically.

If you would love to learn more, I encourage you to join me and our Empower Her Tribe every Thursday of this month at 7PM CST.
