EMPOWER HER BLOG: Dear, Friend of the Strong Friend!

When was the last time you checked on your strong friends?

Not those who may follow you on Facebook.

You know those few who can spend minutes to an hour listening to you.

Yeah, those friends!

Have you really followed up with the ones who seem to be always there for you?

When was the last time you really asked about their day?

When was the last time you asked about their highest or lowest moments recently, on the phone?

The reason I asked is being a true follower of Christ is not easy.

Don't hear me wrong, there are many benefits to following Christ!

There are also a number of days where things are not as enjoyable.

There is a whole enemy out here we cannot see who tries to steal, kill, and destroy every good plan God has for us!

With this in mind, we can experience emotions from life circumstances to make us feel disappointment, abandoned, defeated, or even alone in a room filled with many.

So I ask again, when was last time you really checked in our your strong friends?

'Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.' -1 Thessalonians 5:11

Your encouragement has the power to build up another!

Friend, as we often share, you were created by The Creator, God!

According to Genesis 1:27, you are created in the image of God.

God's image is full of love and power!

Because you were created in the image of God, you too, can literally speak life in the midst of darkness.

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. -Ecclesiastes 4:12

God's power in you with the help of friends can help overpower the enemy!

Your friends alone can not overcome the enemy.

You alone cannot defeat the enemy.

Believe it or not the enemy we cannot see can make us feel low when unexpected or uncomfortable circumstances occur.

This is all lies from the enemy that can bring darkness in the form of anxiety, anger, fear, or even depression.

It takes God’s power to bring truth, light, into our circumstances to defeat the enemy! (Read Jesus’ example in Matthew 4.)

It’s even better when you have a tribe of friends in faith pushing back the enemy’s darkness.

Check in with your friends!

Heavenly father, God, thank you for my Friend who is reading this post! God, you know them. They are your child who you created in your image. On this day, no matter if they are the strong friend or the friend of the strong friend, God, help them! God you love them and you know their every need. Thank you for your power working in their lives to defeat the enemy in their lives and those who are connected to them. Thank you for giving them wisdom to support their strong friends. May victory be attached to my friend and their Tribe in Jesus name, amen!
