The other day I played a game with my nephews and his friends.
In the game, my nephew would ask a series of questions such as would you rather do this or that.
After asking a few comparisons, my nephew asked, “Would you rather receive a billion dollars now or have a dollar that grows every day?”
I casually chimed in to the group, “I would rather have $1 billion now, for tomorrow is not promised to anyone.”
After sharing that with my nephew, I started to think about how true this statement really is!
Every day we wake up, we don’t know the time that we have on this earth.
Now, I share this with you not to make you feel afraid.
I do share this as a woman who simply believes in God and God’s word.
The Bible is pretty clear and it lets us know that life is merely a vapor!
James 4:13-14 NLT, “Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.”
Proverbs 27:1 NLT, “Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring.”
Friend, there is a time and a season for everything, including your life!
When you think about your life and your life after time on earth, are you prepared?
As you and I are growing stronger faith, I believe it is important that we choose to live every day as if we want to live with our Creator, God.
The first step is simply to confess Jesus (God’s Son) is Lord over your life. (Romans 10:9)
Believe Jesus lived, died, and rose again for all things you have or could ever do. (John 3:16)
Next, go public with your faith through baptism! (Acts 2:38)
Proceed to start a personal relationship with God!
Spend time with God intentionally through prayer and worship. (Matthew 6:9-13) (Romans 12:1)
Extend gratitude to God for simply being God. (Psalms 136:1)
Give to others. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Spread the Gospel which is God's word and command from Jesus to all God's children. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Now, I do believe that there are several decades or more that I have on this earth.
My hope this could be the same for you too, friend!
With this in mind, no matter our time let’s choose to live every day as God’s children.
Because we are created in His image, let’s continue to share His image through faith that we may live again with Him forever!
