EMPOWER HER BLOG: SAY YES TO REST!
Have you ever said, 'I don’t have enough time', 'I have so much to get done', 'I feel drained', 'This is too much'.
Then, you realize how often these phrases have been expressed constantly for the past few months!
Or, do you notice how your eyes get heavier as you scroll on your phone screen throughout the day?
You may not feel as energized.
Friend, it is time to say yes to rest!
When I think about my life, I can admit there are areas where I like to go hard nonstop.
I mean I go full force mode, especially with this here business 😉
Then, The Holy Spirit will remind me of Genesis 2:2 NIV,
“By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.”
As a result, I will close my laptop, delete the social media apps, go for a walk, and rest!
Because I realize in order to operate effectively, I have to be fully functional to produce my best work.
Thank the Lord for the ability to schedule posts!
Today, I am sharing the same with you, Friend.
Ask yourself, 'When was the last time I rested?'.
And, I mean really rested!
When was the last time you went without social media?
When was the last time you took a walk?
When was the last time you read a book.....the Bible 👀
As you are growing stronger in faith, your discipline to learn and apply God’s word will create a greater version of you.
Why?
Because you were created in God’s image!
God's image is powerful, Friend.
Since you are created in God's image, you have God's power living inside of you to be powerful too!
In order to operate effectively like The Creator, you need rest too!
Friend, I encourage you to pick one day out of the remaining days of this week for rest.
I encourage you to pick a day to unplug.
Take a nap.
Go for a walk.
Listen to worship music.
Rest!
Do an arts and crafts project with the kids, your spouse, or yourself.
If The Creator, God, needed rest, so do you!
Now, go and get some rest!!
