EMPOWER HER BLOG: This Is How You Prepare!

Updated: Apr 21, 2023

Have you ever tried baking without all the ingredients?

It can be one of the most unpleasant experiences, right?

There you are trying to bake a cake.

You take out your favorite mixing bowl.

You add your softened butter.

You add your sugar.

You add your flour.

You add eggs…one by one…to your mixing bowl.

Then, you add all the rest of your ingredients that are on your counter to make the most delicious cake.

Finally, you pour your mix in a greased/floured pan and place the pan in your oven.

Within the next hour, you hear the timer signaling for you to take out the cake.

However, when you check the cake, you notice the cake never rose!

After looking over the instructions, you notice you forgot two simple yet important ingredients: baking powder and baking soda.

You think…If only I was properly prepared.

I believe the same thing can be applied to your spiritual journey.

If you do not properly prepare, you can find yourself in unpleasant situations…seasons…or worse an unpleasant after life 😳

Mark 13 states,

“You, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know when the master of the household will return—in the evening, at midnight, before dawn, or at daybreak.” Mark 13:35

And, 1 Timothy 4:8 shares,

“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8

Your preparation sets up your experience.

When you think about your spiritual journey, how are you currently preparing for your experience here on earth?

And, how are you preparing for your experience for the afterlife?

Do you pray intentionally?

Do you read your Bible intentionally?

How are you right now using your spiritual gifts to enhance God’s kingdom?

How are you preparing your finances?

How are you valuing your relationships?

I believe these questions are important for you to know and ask yourself regularly.

Because you are not simply here to exist on this earth.

There is so much more that God has for you!

And, what He has for you is time to prepare for what is to come.

Today, I encourage you to take a moment to pause and reflect over your life.

Think about where you are currently spiritually, relationally, financially, mentally, and etc.

Next, think about where you would like to be in these areas.

Then, say the following prayer:

God, I realize where I am. Help me to prepare for where I would like to be. I understand that everywhere I would like to be right now may not be time or even in your will. Prepare my heart to accept your will. Lead me, so I will properly prepare for all you have in this season for me and beyond. In Jesus name, amen
