EMPOWER HER BLOG: Who Is Speaking?

Friend, when you think about those who are most close to you, how are they helping you to become better?

How are they speaking to you?

Because as you grow stronger in faith, it is those people who can have the influence to help you level up!

Proverbs 27:17 says it best, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

As you think about your circle, I’d like to share why it is good for you to evaluate your very own!

I remember when I first made a decision to give my life to Christ.

At the time, I had several friends!

The more I developed in my relationship with God the smaller my inner circle became.

Though many who surrounded me at the time were good people, I noticed some were not helping or supporting my faith journey.

We had similar interests.

We enjoyed one another’s company.

But, whenever I faced a problem, prayer was hardly an option.

Speaking faith aligning with God’s word was not considered.

I remember asking God for help for friends that would help push me towards the plans He has for my life.

The revelation I received from God was simple:

Your friends should help you to become better in all areas of your life!

As time went on, I watched how those same individuals slowly disappeared.

In time, I gained new friends who provided me with the love and support I needed in every area of my life, including faith journey!

My new friends don’t tell me what I want to hear.

In fact, quite often they tell me things I don’t always want to hear, but it helps me to thrive and grow stronger by faith!

I share this with you as you choose to grow stronger in faith, friend.

Take some time this week to ask God to reveal those who are helping to grow stronger.

I understand this process may be a little hard for you.

Can I pray for you and your journey?

Heavenly Father, thank you for my friend reading this prayer. God, you know all things including my friend and their entire situation, including their relationships. Father, I ask this week you will begin to reveal every person to them who is helping them to grow stronger in faith! Help them to also be a good friend who helps their friends. Thank you for all you are doing in their lives, in Jesus name, Amen!
