God, I Just Need to Know It's You | Empower Her Blog

  • There’s something so powerful about Gideon’s story and not because he was the strongest or the boldest, but because he dared to ask God for confirmation.

Sometimes when you’re building by faith, it’s not that you don’t believe… it’s just that you need assurance.

That what you’re doing really is from God. That He really is with you.

And that He hasn’t forgotten you while you’re trusting Him for something big.

If I can be real honest, I felt this way.

I didn’t graduate from college.

I barely received my high school diploma.

So, when I had a belief that God was telling me to start a business, I didn’t doubt the feeling I wanted to make sure my belief was from God.

I soon rediscovered and inspired by the story of Gideon.

You see, Gideon wasn’t ignorant about who God was. He had heard the stories about how God delivered Israel, performed miracles, and showed up time and time again.

But he needed to see God for himself.

And honestly? So do many of us.

As you read, you may have grown up in church. You may know all the right scriptures and songs. But there comes a moment where you quietly whisper to Heaven:

“God, I need to know You for me. I’ve heard what You can do for others, but… can You do something for me?”

That’s where faith becomes personal. That’s where transformation begins.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.

You just have to be honest.

God can do all things, but fail.

And if you leave space for Him, He will prove Himself faithful to you.

Just like He did for Gideon.

And just like He’s doing for me.

Sharing My Story For You

Whatever the situation, don’t feel bad for asking God for confirmation. He’s not offended by your honesty. In fact, He welcomes it.

Faith doesn’t mean you never ask questions. It means you still believe while you wait for the answer.

One thing I’ve learned is that you don’t need a long, drawn-out prayer. You don’t need to shout or perform when you talk to God.

You just need to be honest.

The same way you’d talk to the closest people in your life? Friend, talk to God like that.

Then pause.

Wait.

Make space for Him to speak.

Because He will and when He does, it’ll align with His Word.

That’s why staying in the Word matters… because it helps you know what your Heavenly Father, God sounds like.

Verse of the Day

Judges‬ ‭6‬:‭17‭ (NLT) Gideon replied, “If you are truly going to help me, show me a sign to prove that it is really the Lord speaking to me.

‭‭
