Making Moves

You and I both know our culture loves to make moves!

We hardly share about being still.

By Oxford definition, to make a move is defined as going in a specified direction or manner. Simply put, making a move is to change position.

The word move can be overly used and has become more popular than its first discovery in the 1800s!

This may be the reason when someone who is experiencing a recent transition in life we’ll quickly see or hear about it.

In the same way, we’ve grown to know making moves is how most people are evaluated on their level of success!

In other words, the more moves a person makes in life the more successful they can appear.

Spiritually, I would love to share with you a fresh perspective of making moves.

As believers, one of our biggest goals is to go to Heaven to experiencing the presence of God forever!

Our very moves on earth will be determined by God to stay there.

However, each day we also have countless opportunities to choose how we move and whether those moves will bring life or death to us here on earth.

Don’t believe me?

Let’s read the Bible!

Deuteronomy 30:15-16 states,

Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are about to enter and occupy.

This is why it’s so important to seek God before moving!

Acting in emotions can sometimes produce some of our biggest regrets because we didn’t take time to be still and receive wisdom.

You may be wondering, “Well, BG, how can I tell spiritually if my moves align with God?

I’m glad you asked!

Our private relationship with God will be exposed publicly in how we move.

No matter how many scriptures you learn or the amount of time you are serving in ministry people will see who or what moves you.

Let me share a moment of transparency to further explain.

Earlier this year, I hosted Empower Her’s first Empower Her Meet Up: Empower Her Tulsa Meet Up.

With many emotions that was inside of me, I wasn’t expecting to have awkwardness be one of them!

Someone who hurt me in the past came to attend the event.

Meaning, at the time this person wasn’t my favorite person.😳

The Holy Spirit immediately, checked my emotions.

Breonna, how do you expect to minister to these people if you allow your emotions to stop you ministering to this one?

Honey Bunches…got me together quickly, okay!!

I made a decision in that moment to move in surrender by casting any long forgotten hurts or trauma to God.

In return, the blessing was received in the event’s message of healing to that individual and all who attended, including me.

Honey Bunches, whatever moves you choose give yourself time to seek God first!

The Bible also shares, For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, we are His (God’s) offspring.

My prayer is you will begin to make moves not only to have prosperity here on earth and eternal life in Heaven.

Starting today, I’m believing our moves will be in God’s wisdom, so our very journeys could help bring salvation to those who thought they were left behind.

Healing Nuggets!
