When it comes to purity, quite often, it is explained to a group of kids in middle or high school.
But, what about the woman who just went through a divorce?
How do you encourage her to wait?
Again?
I never imagined I would be that woman.
The woman who has survived divorce.
I use the word survived because experiencing divorce can make one feel like a plague. Divorce can bring unwanted low emotions, leaving one feeling, plagued with anger, depression, shame, or embarrassment.
Divorce can make one be unsure of themselves or their future. So if one is unsure of themselves or future, how can one be convinced to hope in an area where they feel like they failed. Failed not only in themselves, not only by their former spouse, but failed by God.
The answer can be summed up in one word: Faith.
Hebrews 11:1 KJV simply shares, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
As a woman who has survived divorce, I am also a woman who loves a true and living God.
Despite my circumstances, my love and worship for God doesn’t change. Waiting in purity after divorce is a double honor to display God is still good to me.
God is still God. Period.
God has proven to me more times than I can count how wonderful He is.
This test is a honor and testimony for the world to see God is still good.
Just because things didn’t go as planned, it doesn’t stop the good plans that I know God has for me.
I refuse to allow one moment of premature pleasure to rob me of the promises that are being perfected in patience.
To the woman who is unsure to wait again, God is still God. God never abandoned you. Those low feelings are lying to you. God’s word doesn’t return void, that includes for your life and marriage!
Verse of the Day
Genesis 50:20 NIV, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."
