When You Have Given Your All

When is the last time you gave?

How did it make you feel?

I remember as a young girl my mom would encourage my siblings and I to give quite often.

Whenever we would select items to donate, she had this particular saying I still value to this very day.

Her words were something along the lines of, “When you give to someone, don’t give what you don’t want, give what you like.

I didn’t understand the importance behind her saying until here recently.

You see, I am learning to be a follower of Christ there are moments where God may ask us to give.

During the time of being advised to give, it may feel uncomfortable for you and I to offer up something we want or need.

Let me tell you, most often, when God ask us to give it’s normally something we really love, value or appreciate.

If He hasn’t asked you yet, keep on living!

At this present time, God has revealed to me fresh new wisdom pertaining to giving that I’d like to share with you for the next few weeks.

I believe this wisdom will not only empower you in your life, but it will also encourage those who you may encounter.

My prayer and vision is to enlighten you with several different yet synonymous bible stories all pointing to this spiritual truth:

Giving unselfishly has the power to bless beyond you.

I understand the feeling of not really knowing what will happen on the other end when you choose to give.

You may even question the desire from God to release your very last or that very item you cherish!

For this reason, starting today, I want you to meditate on the following scriptures found in 2 Corinthians 9:7-8:

You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”

And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

Each week, as you and I journey on the topic of giving through the Bible, I believe God will reveal how amazing selfless giving can really be!

In this season where many in our world has experienced losses, setbacks, and griefs, I believe God wants His children, us, the body of Christ, to extend selfless acts of generosity in a new way.

Give cheerfully knowing God will provide everything that is needed.

Now, I’m sure when you read the above Nugget you may have missed my intent.

God knows all.

God sees all.

Meaning, when we choose to give to someone, He even knows what all is needed on the very act of our generosity!

To further explain, in the moment we give, (even our very last or precious item) , I believe God is creating an opportunity to produce a supernatural miracle with a threefold effect through us.

Our very selfless act will not be limited to simply blessing someone or for God to bless us, but I believe it will bless others we may not even see.

I challenge you, Honey Bunches, if you really want to be a blessing through generosity, meditate on the above scriptures, ask God to soften your heart towards giving, and be ready to grow with me these next few weeks in extending the heart of Christ to others during this holiday season…and beyond! 😉
